The Cliffs are just south of a part of Ireland known as the Burren, a unique limestone landscape is the largest karst landscape in Europe.
One of the biggest attractions in Ireland is the Cliffs of Moher, huge cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on the western coast of Ireland. The sheer size and drop off of the cliffs are what make them so magical. There is a pathway along the edge of the cliff that goes on for miles, perhaps, and allows you to see different views of the natural wonder. There is also a museum, which is small but interesting with interactive exhibits showing a birds eye view of the cliffs as well as demonstrations of how the cliffs were formed. I highly recommend a visit! The Cliffs are just south of a part of Ireland known as the Burren, a unique limestone landscape is the largest karst landscape in Europe. Driving through the Burren on the way to the famous cliffs, our tour guide Val stopped off at what he called the “Mini Cliffs” that offer a great view of the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher in the background. (The Aran Islands are three small islands off the west coast of the country that are known to be the most traditional, authentic part of Ireland, and where Irish/Gaelic is primarily spoken. If time had allowed, I would have liked to take a day trip over there to see what it was like.
